Shopping for the Sabbath
7
Inches Edition of 18
I was impressed to see Hasidic men
shopping for food on Friday mornings, wearing their long black coats,
large black hats, beards, and paot. In each hand they carried a
brightly colored plastic basket and a chale (bread) would be poking
out of one of them. The contrast between old-world dress and new-world
plastic amused and amazed me.
