Every Friday morning, I heard thumps all around me. When I went to the window, I saw my neighbor across the street thumping away at her rug with a rattan paddle that resembles a tennis racquet. I discovered the same paddle in our apartment, and since there was no vacuum cleaner, I too, beat our rugs. What a wonderful way to get rid of one's aggressions.
