Three Generations
I had received a fellowship to the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) which was affiliated with Sweet Briar College. The development officer from the college told me that this was the year when three generations of students had attended the college, a grand mother, a mother and the present student. He was putting together a campaign that would raise $1,000,000 for the President’s Circle. He asked me to make a sculpture that would be given to the ten donors who were donating $100,000. I was delighted and complied. The sculptures are cast in bronze, mounted on Travertine marble, which is mounted on a rotating Lazy Suzan hardware. They are numbered and signed by me.
