Senator Paul E. Tsongas Preservation Award
This award was commissioned by Historic Massachusetts Inc. and given to Senator Tsongas as the first recipient. The letters HMI are repeated throughout the design. The pyramidal shape is an indication of stability and timelessness for the built environment. The famed Bulfinch golden dome is at the top of the sculpture indicating the Senator’s tenure. On top of the dome is a pineapple, the symbol of hospitality . The award is given annually to those who have made major contributions in the field of preservation. The sculpture is cast in bronze, mounted on Travertine marble, under which is a rotating Lazy Susan hardware. It is signed by me. |
